Getting Creative with Tony Rowell
Here at Looking Glass Photo, we have the honor of meeting each and every one of you. And sometimes, we go beyond friendship and collaborate in making really cool stuff happen. This is most certainly true when it comes to pro photographer, Tony Rowell.
Tony Rowell is an adventurer. His photography expeditions have taken him from the Arctic Circle to the mountains of Tibet. His resulting award-winning photography has been published in books and calendars, as well as top magazines including Astronomy, Backpacker, Mountain Bike Action, Nature’s Best and Outdoor Photographer. Rowell’s astro time-lapse videos have been featured on the National Geographic Channel, and his astrophotography has appeared on NASA’s APOD website. He is also the author of the book Sierra Starlight.
So as you can imagine, it’s been fun getting creative with Tony! Most recently, we collaborated with Tony in creating a 30-second Looking Glass video for television AND for “Previews” at the AMC Bay Street 16 movie theaters. He provided spectacular time-lapse footage that really brings the screen to life. Check out the video:
We have also worked with Tony in running what has become our most popular workshop: Night Landscapes and Astrophotography. The workshop includes a class lecture followed by a field trip (typically to Rodeo Beach in the Marin Headlands) for a shoot. Sound interesting? We’re also putting together a new workshop with Tony that will debut this year: Time-lapse Photography. We don’t have all the details yet, but when we do, we can notify you. Click here to add yourself to our list of folks who would like more information on this class. Just click here!
