Saturday, October 8th – 2:45pm to 3:45pm – Looking Glass Classroom
TALK IS FULL. WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING RSVPs.
Tony plans on sharing the wonderful art of time-lapse photography and video. He will discuss a collection off iconic landscapes of the Sierra Nevada and surrounding areas captured under moon light and starlight. Many of the images feature constellations, meteors, and the Milky Way with subjects in the foreground illuminated by moonlight or off camera flashes. Accompanying the photos are short stories that include technical info, camera settings, location info, and the adventure and challenges of capturing the images such as stormy weather, carrying heavy packs of camera gear at high elevations, staying up all night to film celestial events, and on the spot repairs to camera gear in remote locations.
He will also share some of his father’s images, renowned photographer and mountaineer Galen Rowell. Yes, THE Galen Rowell!
